Introduction
KTM bikes are immensely popular among young buyers in India. The Austrian bike maker launched the 250 Duke in India in 2017 to fill the gap between 200 and 390. The bike sits in the middle of these two in terms of power, features and pricing. Continuing the KTM’s racing legacy, the bike made a prominent place in the Indian two-wheeler industry. The brand has made some tweaks to the bike in 2020. Let’s dive in to know all of its features and specifications.

KTM Duke 250 Design and Style
Built on KTM’s aggressive design language, the 250 Duke is a naked motorbike. The motorcycle's general design is similar to that of its elder sibling, the 390 Duke. The front profile has a sleek headlamp design with LED daytime running lights in the shape of a boomerang. The fuel tank is chiselled and has stylish extensions.
The exposed trellis frame lends the KTM 250 Duke a rugged appearance. The tail part also has a bolted frame painted in orange that looks fantastic. The side-mounted exhaust adds to the appearance of the motorbike. The tail section is stylish, thanks to the new LED taillight, split grip rails, and tail-tidy design. The black alloy wheels with orange stickers complement the entire appearance.
KTM Duke 250 Engine and Gearbox
Talking about power, this bike has a 249.07cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. This engine generates 31 hp power at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm torque at 7,250 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission which provides a better computing experience.
KTM Duke 250 Brakes, Suspension and Tyres
In its front, 43mm WP USD forks have been given. At the same time, a 10-step adjustable WP mono-shock suspension has been given in its rear. Talking about braking features, a 320mm disc brake has been given in its front. At the same time, a 230mm disc brake has been given in its rear. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels with 110mm wide tires at the front and 150mm at the rear.
KTM Duke 250 Instrument Console
KTM has given a digital LCD instrument cluster in the new 250 Duke, which also offers navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to that, it also displays speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, clock, ABS light, LED indicator lights, fuel gauge, low fuel warning light, gear indicator, service reminder, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, gear shift light and engine check indicator.
Key Features of KTM Duke 250
New KTM 250 Duke gets features like USD Forks, Wide Tyres, Attractive Shades, Dual-Channel ABS to mention a few.
KTM Duke 250 Top Speed and Mileage
2024 KTM 250 Duke is good enough to sprint from 0-100 kmph in around 8.64 seconds. When it comes to the top speed and mileage of the motorcycle, you can expect it to reach 148 kmph along with around 30-35 kmpl of mileage under mixed riding conditions.
KTM Duke 250 Colour Options

KTM Duke 250 Price Range in India
The on-road pricing of the 2024 KTM Duke 250 in Delhi is Rs 2.77 lakh, Rs 2.86 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 2.80 lakh in Kolkata, and Rs 2.84 lakh in Chennai. The prices listed above are estimates; please contact your local KTM dealership for an actual on-road price quote in your city.
Ex-showroom Price & On-Road Price
Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). The On-Road Price, on the other hand, is the real amount you pay to the dealership to make the car roadworthy. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentages for the State Registration Charges.
KTM Duke 250 Competitors
At present, Yamaha FZS 25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 are in competition with New KTM 250 Duke in the Indian market. Although both these bikes are cheaper than the 250 Duke, their torque and power output is less than the 250 Duke.
Verdict- Should You Buy it?
When it comes to power, the KTM 250 Duke’s torque and power outputs are the maxima and best figures in the 250cc segment. Apart from that, the appeal of this bike cannot be seen in any other 250cc segment bikes. The split headlamp and integrated DRLs are some plus points. The motorcycle comprises a good braking experience with a dual-channel ABS system and is all set in the department of safety and comfort. The bike comes in a sporty look and is a perfect buy for the youth.

Esme loss kya hota hai
I am Stevin.I have recently bought a 2017 duke 250 delivered to me on May 20th 2017,after a 1month delay. From the very 1st day my bike was showing ,engine shutting off.So i contacted service center, they told me it will be fixed gradually when bike is used, they told a time period of 1-2days for that. The problem is still alive. After the 4th morning my bike was not starting up?.So i contacted the service service boy was there at my home to check it,which was a good move. The problem was that the battery power drained,so they fixed it.I told them about the engine shutting off issue, they told me to visit service center after one week,so they could take a better look and identify what's the problem. The very next day my meter was dead?.I told them that too,So they told that the will replace the meter, but needed a 2week time, because the part was being on way from Pune..Iam fed up with this situation..Im starting to hate KTM for that??
Is there any possibility of abs in Duke 250 in future
Really good :-)
Top speed is not 158 kmph just 137 kmph...
It is wrong to think that only college boys and rich people sons like 200 to 300 cc bikes.Manufacturers are thinking like that and so they are making with ugly sports looks and with inconvinient handel and back seat and with aquard up side fuel tank.just look at royalenfield bike .most of commuters are using royal enfields for street ridings in towns and cities.due to bad shapes and inconvinient bodies most of bikes ns200rs200 ,220f krv2 are not being sold out more .tvs ok so make bikes with dual shape and give chance for... to buy theire choice of bike.
