- Vehicle Overview
- Yamaha SZ-RR is the most affordable 150cc motorcycle in the company lineup. Not just that, it uses the same engine that is fitted in the Fazer Version 2.0 but carries a different state of tune due to carburettor use. It comes out to be the best option for those who are looking for a refined premium commuter for everyday riding. The engine here is good for 11.9 BHP and 12.8 Nm of torque. The bike weighs just 134 kg and claims a top speed of 105 kmph. The 14 liter fuel tank is very helpful during long journeys while the bike rivals Hero Achiever, Honda Unicorn and Bajaj V15 in its segment.

Yamaha corporation had organized a 'Mission 10,000 km' ride to promote its FZ-S FI models. The Mission came to an end at the YMCA grounds in Chennai. At this event, the company has launched a new bike called the SZ-RR Version 2.0. It is a commuter bike for daily use which majorly suits the 24-35 age group crowd. Let's check out its offerings.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Design and Style
The Yamaha SZ-RR V2.0 features very little but noticeable cosmetic changes over the SZ-RR V1.0. Yamaha has dipped the bike in new cool color combinations that make it look sporty and stand out amongst other boring-looking commuter bikes. The bike has got a seat height of 800 mm which is quite comfortable and smooth. The Yamaha SZ-RR gets a diamond-type frame and 17-inch wheels at the front and rear that further enhances its looks.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Instrument Panel
The bike features a fully analog instrument console that comprises a tachometer, speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer. The panel provides the rider an important information along with certain indicators.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Dimensions and Fuel tank capacity
The SZ-RR Version 2.0 comes with a length of 2050 mm, width of 760 mm and a height of 1100 mm as its dimensions along with a wet or kerb weight of 134 Kgs. It has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres which does not disappoints you on the long runs.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Engine and Gearbox
The motorcycle is powered by a 149cc, 4-stroke, air cooled, mono cylinder, SOHC, Blue Core technology engine which pumps out a peak power of 11.9 Bhp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 12.8 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a five speed transmission and a wet multiple-disc clutch. It has a chain type final drive and forced, semi sump type lubrication system.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Brakes and Suspension
The motorcycle comes equipped with 245 mm hydraulic disc brakes at the front and 130 mm drum brakes at the rear end. The suspension duties are handled by Telescopic with coil spring & oil damper at its front while Swingarm with coil spring & oil damper are placed at the rear end. It has a front a front wheel travel of 135 mm and rear wheel travel of 120 mm.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Ride and Handling
It has a wheelbase of 1320 mm which makes this bike stable around corners and it has a high ground clearance of 165 mm to enhance its aerodynamics and it helps in protecting the underbody from damages. Its capable suspension system and broad tyres offer firm grip to this bike on roads but we still wish if it had a longer wheelbase. The braking system accurately stops this bike in city traffic and improves the handling quality of this bike. The bike can easily pave through city traffic and offers greater stability on roads.
Yamaha SZ-RR V2 Colours and Price
The Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0 is available in three attractive shades :Red Dash, Ivory White, and Green Arrow at a price tag of Rs. 65,300. This is the ex-showroom, Delhi price which may vary.

I am confused with the reviews Of Sz-rr v2 it good to ride long or not.
Just purchased SZ RR version 2. I had a very good experience in riding both highways & city roads. and mileage I couldn't able to share cos jus taken before an week.
One thing I don't like from this bike is its old school design (fairings) compared to pulsar fairings or even gixxer, not very modern and has a big head cowl not dimensional to the body. This bike don't have too much power and it can't even reach at 116 - 120 kmph and take note it has a 150cc engine, much better to buy 125cc instead. This bike has no match on the top speed of the Pulsar 135LS even Pulsar has smaller displacement, and no match on the mileage too, even the design, still no match for the sportier look of the Pulsar. Damn, Yamaha must have something to do with this (SZ's segment).
Please give valuable.suggestion for bike yamaha sz rr v2 Or pulsar 135ls.
