Hero ZIR 150

Hero MotoCorp after conquering the commuter industry is all set to conquer the automatic scooter segment. They showcased three new scooters at the 2014 Auto Expo and the scooter that grabbed most of the attention was the ZIR 150. It was showcased in two different variants and those were the flat board model and the other one was a stunning European style step thru. The scooter segment have never offered as many features as are offered by the ZIR-150 like dual projector headlamps with daylight running lights integrated in them, petal disk brakes, LED indicators and tail lamp, windshield and many such features. The ZIR-1500 is in all aspects a new product in the scooter industry. It comes with a powerful as well as efficient 150 cc liquid cooled 4-stroke OHC engine. The engine of ZIR 150 produces 14 bhp@8500 rpm power on ride. The torque of Hero ZIR is 12.7 Nm at 7000 rpm. It can easily touch the top speed of 110kmp.

The instrument console is a digital analogue combo. The European style step thru variant is actually a sporty version of the all new ZIR-150. The European style step thru models gets additional features like cowl mounted console and a wider wind screen. Both the models will be powered with a 157 cc liquid cooled mill. Hero announced that the ZIR will be launched in the year 2015 and there is no such information revealed by the company regarding the price of the new Hero ZIR. The company introduced a system named Hero Ride Start System, which is a trip detail app which you can operate via Bluetooth. All Engine/Ride information can communicate via this system. Another option offered by the company in its newly launched scooter is that it offers Intelligent Airflow technology which gives efficiency and powerful performance on ride.

The Dual Lighting system specially the Day Light Lamp enhances the aggressive styling of the scooter. The optimum temperature of the coolant is maintained by the Force Dynamic Cool Air System even at high speeds. Keeping in mind the safety of the rider the scooter offers an Integrated Hydraulic Breaking system in combination with disk breaks in the rear and front. The other beneficial feature offered by the scooter is its 9 litres of huge tank capacity for long rides. There is a socket for mobile phone charging too in the scooter.

The length of the scooter is 2085 mm, width is 745 mm and height is 1385 mm. The weight of the scooter is 139 kg. ZIR 150 comes with a 12V-6aH battery to power all the electrical and maintenance free headlamps. It has a ground clearance of 155 mm. It has Telescopic Hydraulic Shock Absorber in front and a swinging engine and adjustable dual shock-absorbers in rear. It has tubeless tires with alloy wheels which enhances the looks of the scooter. Hero ZIR comes with dual tone body color styling, textured seats and many more styling features.
