It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Bajaj Avenger 160
The Bajaj Avenger, by Bajaj Auto India, is a popular cruise-style motorcycle. The first-gen bike of the Bajaj Avenger series was launched in 2005, and since then, all the bikes from this lineup, like the Avenger 180, 200, and 220, have gained immense popularity in the country. After the successful venture of first-gen bikes, the brand introduced the second-gen series with the all-new Avenger Street 150 in 2015. Later in May 2019, the homegrown two-wheeler maker debuted the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS bike with a lively paint scheme comprising Spicy Red and Ebony Black shades. Over the years, Bajaj kept updating the bike, and as of now, the BS6-compliant model is available for sale in India.
Introduction
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Design & Style
To begin with, the new Avenger 160 ABS shares the same design as the Avenger 180. In fact, if the 'Avenger 160' logo on the centre panel is hidden, it is impossible to differentiate the new bike from its predecessor. As a street variation, the bike gets the aluminium components present on typical cruisers, and we must add that the blacked-out parts make it appear more urban.
The front fascia of the bike gets a halogen headlight with an LED DRL sitting beneath. The headlight gets a compact mask, which has no functionality and just adds to the beauty of the bike. The teardrop-shaped fuel tank with Avenger graphics looks elegant. The single-piece saddle is well-cushioned and is comfy for both the rider and the pillion, and the new Bajaj Avenger 160 Street also gets a backrest.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Instrument Console
The instrument console unit in the bike comes fitted with a single-pod instrument console with an analogue speedometer that offers statistics including a trip metre and odometer. However, the instrument cluster misses a tachometer. The fuel gauge, as well as the tell-tale lights for neutral, indicators, and high beam, are tank-mounted and a little difficult to see. The ignition is given on the side, which is a unique feature and is easy to use, but you need to unlock the handle from the front and it hinders the practicality.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Engine & Gearbox
As far as the powertrain is concerned, the 2024 Bajaj Avenger 160 Street gets power from the 160cc, single-cylinder, Twin Spark DTS-i, fuel-injected, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, air-cooled engine that is more refined and churns out 15 HP at 8500 rpm and 13.7 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. This engine is coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine feels and sounds the same as its siblings on the road. As a result, it's rather audible. When you get to the mid-range, the vibrations start to creep in. Furthermore, when the engine is cranked higher, the vibrations get more intense.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Brakes, Suspension & Tyres
In terms of braking duties, it has a rear 130mm drum brake and a front 280mm disc brake. As an added safety feature, it includes a single-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The motorcycle is suspended on a telescopic with a double anti-friction bush at the front and a 5-step adjustable twin shock absorber at the rear. The bike smoothens the road's disparities effectively, and you don't feel it on your back.
Larger potholes, on the other hand, should be avoided, especially at high speeds. The Avenger 160 has low suspension travel since it is a cruiser, and riding rapidly over broken roads may greatly unsettle the cruiser bike. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels which are wrapped in 90/90-17 49P front and 130/90-15 66P rear tubeless tyres.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Top Speed & Mileage
As for performance, the 160cc cruiser can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 17.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 km/h which is speedo-indicated. In the real world, the mileage figures of the bike may reach 50-53 kmpl on the highways and return to 42-45 km/l in city traffic.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Ex-Showroom Price & On-Road Price
The current ex-showroom price of the 2024 Bajaj Avenger 160 Street starts at Rs 1.12 lakh. While the on-road price is Rs 1.29 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.33 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.30 lakh in Kolkata, and Rs 1.32 lakh in Chennai. However, these are only estimated prices and we suggest you visit the nearest authorised dealership for the exact on-road price depending on the region.
The ex-showroom price is the vehicle's production cost + dealer/seller profit + GST (Goods and Services Tax) + transportation charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). The On-Road Price, on the other hand, is the real amount you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle roadworthy. It includes the ex-showroom price in your city, as well as RTO charges (vehicle registration), a one-time road tax, and insurance charges.
The On-Road Price also includes extra items such as Genuine Accessories and an Extended Warranty when purchasing a vehicle. Please keep in mind that the On-Road Price varies greatly across India due to various percentages for State Registration Charges.
Bajaj Avenger 160 Street Competitors
In the Indian market, the bikes with similar features to the new Bajaj Avenger 160 Street are Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Intruder 150, Hero Xtreme 160R, Honda XBlade 160, Hero Xpulse 200 and the TVS Apache RTR 2V.
Verdict - Should You Buy Bajaj Avenger 160 Street or not?
The entry-level 2024 Bajaj Avenger 160 Street remains the most reasonable cruiser bike with an ABS option in the country, and that gives it a real Bajaj significance at heart, as all of their models strive to offer the best value for money in their respective niches. If you desire a budget-friendly street cruiser for easy cruising and long-distance travel, you should definitely consider purchasing the new Bajaj Avenger Street 160.
