Expert opinion and recommendation

The Yezdi Scrambler is a motorcycle that promises a lot with its enticing design and versatile capabilities, but it falls short in several key areas. The scrambler styling, complete with a round headlamp, teardrop fuel tank, and rugged accessories like hand guards and block-pattern tyres, is undoubtedly a highlight. However, the overall quality and fit and finish of the motorcycle are disappointing, with issues like exposed chassis welds, uneven panel gaps, and poor plastic quality. The engine, while refined and powerful with 29.36bhp and 28.21Nm of torque, still has some vibration and harshness at low RPMs. Handling is generally good, especially in city traffic, but the front-heavy design and stiff rear springs can make the ride bouncy and uncomfortable over rough surfaces. Despite these flaws, the Scrambler remains a fun and capable bike, especially for those who appreciate its unique styling and off-road capabilities.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

The updated Yezdi Scrambler is expected to feature a new red paint scheme, a revised fuel tank design, and alloy wheels wrapped in premium Pirelli tyres, replacing the current spoked wheels. The bike will also have a flat single-piece seat and a monoshock suspension at the rear. These changes aim to make the bike more road-going and improve overall build quality. I think these updates will significantly enhance the riding experience and appeal of the Scrambler.

The 2023 Yezdi Scrambler has been updated to comply with OBD2 norms and includes several internal tweaks, resulting in more linear and enjoyable power delivery. The bike retains its scrambler build but has some issues with quality, such as wires around the console and flimsy plastic bits. The suspension, particularly the rear springs, can be uncomfortable over long rides. I believe these improvements are a step in the right direction, but theres still room for refinement.

The Yezdi Scrambler has been criticized for its fit and finish, with issues such as panel gaps and flimsy plastic parts. However, the bikes engine refinement and NVH levels have been improved, making it more enjoyable to ride in traffic. The exhaust note has also been enhanced, giving it more grunt and bass. I believe addressing the quality issues will be crucial for the Scramblers long-term success.
March 16, 2023
The Yezdi Scrambler is priced around Rs. 2.10 lakh and is designed to handle both paved and unpaved roads. The bike features a wide handlebar and quick directional changes, making it fun to ride. However, the rear suspension can be firm and uncomfortable over bumps. I think the Scrambler offers a great balance of performance and versatility, but riders should be aware of its suspension quirks.

The Yezdi Scrambler is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 29.36bhp and 28.21Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The bike is known for its agile handling and reliable braking, although it could benefit from more initial stopping power. Despite its weight of 192kg, the Scrambler is fun to ride spiritedly. I think the Scramblers performance and handling make it a great option for those who enjoy both on-road and off-road riding.

Once you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around 2.50 lakh to 2.70 lakh. This pricing makes the Scrambler an attractive option for those looking for a scrambler-style motorcycle without breaking the bank. However, its important to consider the ongoing costs, such as maintenance and potential upgrades to improve the bikes quality and performance.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The mileage of the Yezdi Scrambler is a crucial factor for potential buyers, especially in India where fuel efficiency is often a top priority. While Yezdi has not provided official fuel economy figures, user reviews and road tests suggest that the Scrambler can deliver around 25-30 kmpl in mixed riding conditions. This is relatively decent for a 334cc single-cylinder engine, but it may vary based on riding style, road conditions, and maintenance of the bike. The smaller 12.5-liter fuel tank might limit long-range touring, but for daily commuting and occasional off-road adventures, the Scramblers mileage should be satisfactory. ABOUT The Yezdi Scrambler is a unique offering in the Indian motorcycle market, blending retro scrambler styling with modern engineering. It features a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 29.36bhp and 28.21Nm of torque, paired with a smooth six-speed gearbox. The bike is designed for both on-road and off-road use, with a double-cradle frame, telescoping fork, and twinshock rear suspension. The Scrambler comes with modern features like LED lighting, a negative LCD instrument cluster, multiple ride modes, and switchable ABS. It also includes practical touches like two USB charging ports and a generous 200mm ground clearance. While it has some drawbacks in terms of quality and ride comfort, the Scramblers overall package makes it an appealing choice for riders looking for a fun, versatile, and stylish motorcycle.

Expert Verdict

Professional reviews and expert opinions on Yezdi Scrambler 334

07 Feb, 22 05:38 AM

After a long wait, Classic Legends has finally launched three new motorcycles in the Indian market under its Yezdi brand on January 13, 2022. Arguably the most interesting of the new products is the Scrambler model, which sits between the Roadster and the Adventure in terms of both price and purpose. So let's tell you some special things about it. Yezdi Scrambler looks exactly the same as the company has named on its panel. This is because by looking at it at first glance you can tell that it is definitely a scrambler motorcycle.

Yezdi Scrambler 334: My Personal Take

The moment that Yezdi announced that they would be bringing the Scrambler 334 back, I was taken back and flooded with old memories. Yezdi has always been the cool, classic charm with a little bit of a rough edge for me. Aesthetically this is not the way to go, it's not about aesthetics with this brand, with Yezdi bikes they have always had a timelessness so even if you are selling, you are still adding just enough grit so that you can feel like you are on something special. When I learned they were bringing back the Scrambler 334, I paid attention. It's just even more exciting because they've all blended a modern twist to all that history.

If you’re a fan of the retro styled bikes and at the same time sitting on a machine that can do a bit of off roading fun, then you should have The Yezdi Scrambler 334 to ride with you. That dirt focus makes it reliable to ride every day, but still it's got that design. So just what makes this bike really stand out in the sea of modern motorcycles?

Yezdi Scrambler 334: The Buzz

Well, what’s all the buzz around the Scrambler 334? Yezdi pays homage to its classic roots hugely, but turns them into a workable modern day gnarly beast. It’s more than just a tribute to the past. This is a bike that takes that classic scrambler DNA and makes it onto the modern scene. Think about it: The 1970s bike turned out to be a very good thing, because that was the bike that rolled out of the workshop, looks like but runs like a 2024 machine. This scrambler is just old school charm turned into that new school reliable, that’s what’s exciting me about this scrambler.

But what really jumps out for me is that Yezdi isn’t just running off on nostalgia here. What they’re making are machines that are actually capable of competing in today’s market. It’s also one of the reasons why the Scrambler 334 is such a draw—this bike is a getup for old school riders who grew up with the Yezdi brand and newer riders who want to ride something stylish, utilitarian and capable for more than twisty smooth highways.

Design and Styling: Old School with a Modern Edge

And since let’s be real, when you’re on a scrambler, the look is half the battle, let’s talk design first. The high mounted exhaust, knobby tires, and smallest possible design take you back to the golden age of motorcycling, with scrapers as hard as the needle. The sculpted fuel tank and round headlamps evoke the good old days, but in a modern way so you know this bike isn’t built for the roads of the past.

My only gripe: Yezdi got the mix between retro and modern just right. They’re not going all out retro either. Rather than feeling like the bike is stuck in one of these worlds it can live in both worlds with its ruggedness for some off road fun and its sleekness to get noticed whilst cruising down town. It is a bike that will get you wanting to hit both the dirt trails and the city streets just to show it off.

Engine and Performance: Built for Adventure

Let’s talk now as to what is under the seat. Powered by a 28 horsepower 334HPOcc cylinder liquid cooled engine, the Yezdi Scrambler 334 is produced by Yezdi. Right? Not bad for a scrambler, I suppose? Though this engine is based on the Jawa Perak’s platform, you’ve already got a refined, smooth, engine that will happily cruise to work and back again, and also comfortably handle your dirt trail adventures on weekends.

I’ve always been a fan of the Scrambler 334’s engine, and it has enough low end torque in it to handle rough terrain, but it’s still smooth enough for everyday city riding. In fact, you’re not going to be wrestling with this bike like you might have to with older scramblers — and that’s a relief. Better still, a bike that’s all about looking cool but doesn't perform is not worth your time at all. However, the Scrambler 334 nicely fills that gap between performance and pragmatism.

Handling and Ride Quality: Built for the Twisties

The handling on the Scrambler 334 is one of the most exciting things about it. This bike thanks to its long travel suspension is more than ready for some light offroading— or at least riding the rough city roads that never seem to get patched. They are bikes you can throw into tight corners, and its somehow surprisingly lightweight for a scrambler.

Scrambler 334 has always caught my eye because it’s bikes that do that little bit of both and it appears to be exactly that. Whether you’re riding through the city or conquering some backroad trails this bike is versatile enough it can be fun. The upright sitting position is comfortable, the wide handlebars let you keep all the control you need, especially when you’re dealing with different terrains. It’s the kind of bike that will have you feeling comfortable—whether you’re commuting to work or spontaneously heading into the wilderness for the weekend.

Features and Technology: Simple, Yet Effective

Contrary to much modern practice, the Yezdi Scrambler 334 isn’t overly laden with features — and that’s not always a bad thing. There you are, LED lights, dual channel ABS, and digi analogue instrument cluster. No, it’s not a gadget crammed with all sorts of stuf. It’s getting plenty of tech keeping it modern and safe without making it too complicated of a ride.

What I like is that Yezdi isn’t trying to tack too much on. It’s a bike for those who want to ride, not spend hours breaking their new touchscreen. The Scrambler 334 cleaves to its roots, with just enough technology to match the times without losing its Old School feel.

The Expected Yezdi Scrambler 334: Who’s It For?

That means who exactly is the Scrambler 334 for? I think this is the ideal bike for those who would love a piece of nostalgia but certainly wouldn’t want to compromise on the reliability found nowadays. If you’re the sort of person who thinks your bike should be able to ride rough roads, the dirt trails, or even a weekend jaunt to the mountains, you’ve come to the right place.

But, it’s also for the city rider that is into the retro look but doesn’t want to blend in with all the modern sportbikes and cruisers. If you share my love for a handsome, practical bike that’ll get you from A to B, everyday, then the Scrambler 334 is a model to consider.

What to Keep in Mind

But, I really love the Scrambler 334 and there are a few things to remember. This is a scrambler, so don’t expect it to be the quickest thing on the highway. It’s not designed for high speed, it’s for versatility and adventure. Unless you want to race this may not be the bike for you.

Additionally, this bike isn’t your dirt bike, as it has some off road abilities, but not quite to the full extent that a full blown dirt bike can do. Something more specialized might be what you want if you’re planning to do serious trail riding. Aeronomically speaking, the Scrambler 334 is great light off road and city commuting .

Final Thoughts: Is the Yezdi Scrambler 334 worth buying bike?

The Yezdi Scrambler 334 wraps it up in a nutshell, if you are a retro lover but don’t want to sacrifice the performance or utility and you should highly consider getting on to this one. It’s a design that’s perfect, an engine that can handle both city streets or rougher terrain, and ride quality that’s got a wide variety of capability.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Whether you are after a stylish bike for your weekend adventures, or something stylish and practical for everyday use the Scrambler 334, does the job. It’s not a trip down memory lane, its a modern machine with a classic soul.

But what about you? You being all Scrambler 334? Would you take that bike on your next adventure or looking for something a little faster or more potent? I’ll love to read your thoughts in the comments !
