Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Suzuki Swish 125
‘Swish’ is what Suzuki calls the restyled version of their current 125cc gear-less scooter Access. The Company has decided to offer both scooters simultaneously in our Indian bike market which is witnessing a new trend of gear-less scooters.
‘Swish’ is what Suzuki calls the restyled version of their current 125cc gear-less scooter Access. The Company has decided to offer both scooters simultaneously in our Indian bike market which is witnessing a new trend of gear-less scooters.
Suzuki Swish Design and Style
The biggest changes are made in this department. Swish can’t be mistaken as Access as it’s a big step ahead from Suzuki in terms of styling. Swish 125 looks much more aerodynamic than Access as it loses out the old school designing and its sharp and edgy lines improves the overall character of this scooter. It carries the prominent V shape when seen from the front which improves with new built in clear lens turn indicators. Side panels’ gets new graphics with black coloured silencer cover which doesn't look as cheap as the chrome cover used in Access. Rear profile has also improved significantly as it uses clear lens tail light which is very attractive and big in size and looks quite trendy along with its new aluminium grab rail. Swish is capable enough to stand in front of its biggest rival, Honda Activa which is ruling this segment ever since its launch.
Suzuki Swish Instrument Console
Suzuki Swish uses blue and black colour in its instrument console contrast to the black colour used in Access which neither looks cheap nor looks premium. It has an analogue speedometer and digital odometer, service reminder, trip-meter, clock and fuel gauge.
Suzuki Swish Engine and Gearbox
Suzuki Swish shares its 125cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine with its sibling Access. This mono cylinder, OHC engine churns out a maximum power of 8.58 bhp at 7000 rpm with a torque output of 9.8 Nm coming at 5000rpm. This gear-less scooter uses automatic transmission known CVT.
Suzuki Swish Acceleration and Top speed
Its 125cc engine is the biggest advantage of this scooter. Unlike, other 100cc scooters this engine works effortlessly when equipped in Swish 125. The light weight of 110kg allows Swish to be the fastest in its segment. It does 0-60km/hour in just over 8 seconds. The high capacity of this engine makes it powerful than its other competitors including Activa on papers as well as on road. It’s perfect for city conditions as it moves quickly through traffic. It pulls out torque early and throttle response is quite impressive. It’s a very refined engine with powerful mid and high range. It’s very silent at high rpms and may easily reach a top speed of 90-92km/hour without any signs of vibrations. It’s a nice option for day to day usage.
Suzuki Swish Mileage
Suzuki Swish is on the faster side which does affect its mileage but thanks to its light weight, it manages to get respectable figures. In city conditions it can return you a mileage of around 40km/ltr and if driven in the economy zone which is 40-50km/hour; expect its mileage to increase by 2-3km/ltr.
Comfort While Driving
Suzuki Swish has a wide and comfortable seat which works well for the driver as well for the pillion rider. The handle bar is quite short but grips well and allows you to use it conveniently. Rear view mirror gives you a clear view. We wish if it its floorboard would have been wider as you do feel it a bit cramped when compared to Activa. Instrument panel is easily readable with soft buttons on handle providing optimum comfort while driving.
Suzuki Swish Safety Features and Storage Space
There is an adequate amount of storage space in Swish including a 20 litre under seat space which is very efficient. It also has a bag hook near the floor board. Glove box is missing though but by paying more you can get it fixed for more storage space. You will also have to pay more for the rear foot pegs as unlike Access, it’s not a standard part of Swish. There is a safety shutter on the ignition key slot and from where you open the under seat storage space similar to Access 125.
Suzuki Swish Suspension and Brakes
Suzuki Swish is equipped with high quality of suspension to give you a comfy ride. It shares its suspension with its sibling Access and sports telescopic forks at its front with swing arm type mono shock absorber at the back. Though its suspension is on the soft side but it manages to hold this scooter well on our Indian roads. There is no optional disk brake or combi brake in Swish as we have seen in Honda’s scooters. Instead the wheels are fitted with 120mm drum brakes which halts this scooter in no time and gives you confidence while cruising at high speeds.
Ride and Handling
Riding posture is suitable for daily commuters as your knees and elbows are placed comfortably. Tall drivers may find their knees rubbing to the handle bar with a pillion rider which may irritate you. Otherwise it has no issues as with a high ground clearance of 160mm, it manages to pass most of the speed breakers and potholes with ease. Extended wheelbase of 1250mm keeps it stable at high speeds and sharp corners and it does feel better than others like Activa when driven on daily basis.
Tyres
It has R10 size of tubeless tyres with steel wheels which keeps it grounded and is perfectly mated with this scooter.
Suzuki Swish Colours
2015 Suzuki Swish 125 is available in 4 shades: Metallic Sonic Silver/Glass Sparkle Black (APT), Pearl Mirage White (YPA), Glass Sparkle Black (YYB), and Candy Dark Cherry Red/ Glass Sparkle Black (ACC).
Suzuki Swish Variants
Suzuki Swish 125 is available in one variant with kick and self-start option.
Verdict
Suzuki Swish is probably the cheapest 125cc scooter available right now. At this price, Suzuki is offering a well-built scooter with a refined and powerful engine. It has acceptable storage space, features and comfort which makes it better than most of its competitors. However, it’s poor resale value and after sales service is a matter of concern as at this price you can have the tested and trusted Honda’s Activa which is easy on pocket and has high resale value. Moreover, its fuel efficiency is less than many of its competitors. Had it been priced well it would have been a complete value for money scooter but for now; We doubt if people will shift from Activa to Swish.

I purchased the suzuki swish four year back. This scooter has great muscle and economy mileage. In city i am getting around 45 to 50. But in high way i got around 60KMPL. Really awesome scooter. But only thing is even at 40KM on joint road the Front suspension i hear duck sound. Suzuki need to work on this issue.
had starting problems in winter. in service centre rpm was increased to 1410 . Now mileage has decreased drastically. Service centre said petrol quality is not upto the mark but I have been using same petrol pump since so many years with good results. mileage is problematic. everything else is ggod.
Terrible vehicle. gear box shattered after 260 km in the 2nd month. got it done under warranty but terrible service and just 2 service centers in mumbai. so far spent more money on towing then on fuel.
This bike is awesome. Now the time has come for Suzuki Access to stop its production after all Swish itself is the new model of Access, nothing else.
hey its going to give tough competition to activa and mahindra duro......its looks stylish and not to forgot its 125cc scotter ,so at this price its turely awesome..so go for it.......
I absolutely love this scooter! I bought it on the 30th of April and it's awesome!!! I wonder why it's not as popular as other scooters like the Mahindra Rodeo though! :(
suzuki swish rocks. mahindra duro ab apki romba solid watt lagegi. The ride quality and engine sound is very goeed, but it lack awareness in the market.
Please dont buy this vehicle, the 2day i bought i saw engine oil dripping on the floor my mother panic after spending 60k to see this was disheartening, then i took next day to service they worked on it for 20minutes, all this on 2nd day itself then the service guy said reluctantly with a faint smile we will see it in first service i did not get why he said or what it meant, then worst i took the vehicle back home on that day i saw smoke comming out of the vehichle i dunno from where then with my little knowledge i checked the vehiche and found the engine oil cap was loose and oil splashed all over thentyre dont know what to do, better to forget about the vehichle. !,,,,, no peace of mind please dont buy swiss
