GSX-R600 is a premium sports bike from Suzuki which is the youngest member of their GSX family. Suzuki may launch this bike in India in the coming months. Let’s get in to the detailing of this bike.

Suzuki GSX-R600 Design and Style

The bike truly belongs to other members of GSX family in terms of appearance. Its side fairing and dual color combination makes it look premium like GSX-R1000. The bike looks leaner than other sports bike and this characteristic differentiates it from others. The pointed face of this bike features its sharp front cowl and headlight. The rear view mirrors which come integrated with clear lens indicators are also mounted on this front cowl. The elongated transparent visor further enhances the visual charm of this bike. The racy decals and aerodynamic design of this fairing gives sporty character to this bike while its integrated under cowl adds visual bulk to this bike. The edgy front fender gets extended along its telescopic forks which complement the styling of its disc plates and alloy wheels. The white colored alloy wheel looks fantastic on this bike when seen from a distance. The design of its fuel tank is similar to its elder siblings and looks fancy. The tall positioned rear cowl and up-swept silencer looks really cool on this bike. The slim and sharp rear cowl of this bike features split seats on it while it also sports LED tail light at the back. Its pointed rear fender carries its number plate and clear lens side indicators.

Suzuki GSX-R600 Instrument Console

The bike shares its instrument console with elder sibling GSX-R1000. It has a combined analogue-digital instrument panel which features an analogue tachometer in a circular dial. The LCD for its digital speedometer, odometer, clock, 2-trip meter and fuel gauge sits right next to the circular dial. All essential LED indicators like gear position indicators, low oil indicator have been placed in this panel which provides information to the rider. This instrument cluster also comes with built-in lap timer and programmable engine RPM indicator.

Suzuki GSX-R600 Engine and Gearbox

Suzuki has equipped this bike with a 599cc, 4-stroke DOHC engine. This liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder engine pumps out a power output of 124 Bhp @ 13500 rpm. The maximum torque output of this engine is of 69 Nm which arrives at 11500 rpm. This engine works with a six-speed manual gearbox which has one gear down and five gears up-shift pattern.

Suzuki GSX-R600 is one of those rarest bikes which features 4-cylinder 600cc engine. It’s a super refined machine which has the potential to impress you with its power and performance. The bike does 0-100km/hr in less than 5 seconds. Thanks to its 4 cylinders this DOHC engine always feels quite relaxed and powerful. The bike enjoys linear power delivery and performs best after 6000rpm. This engine is meant for high speed cruising and it does it in style. Comfort While Driving

The rear set 3-way adjustable foot-pegs and high positioned seat gives you sporty riding posture which offers optimum level of comfort. These light foot pegs gives you good grip while it’s also easy to reach them. The clips on handle bar gives aerodynamic position to your elbows and you will enjoy firm palm grip which is quite useful on long trips. The side edges of its fuel tank can be used by the rider to get firm knee grip. You will also enjoy clear view of road and instrument panel after sitting on it.

Storage Space and Safety Features

The bike has no storage space. Its powerful headlight cuts through the dark and ensures you safe rides at night.

Suzuki GSX-R600 Suspension and Brakes

The bike is incorporated with the same suspension and braking system which also does duty in GSX-R750. It features inverted 41mm racing style adjustable forks at its front while it has link type mono shock at the back. The bike sports dual disc brakes of 310mm at its front with 4-piston callipers and single rear disc brake of 220mm.

Ride and Handling

The light frame of this bike effectively improves the ride and handling of GSX-R600 at high speeds. The low ground clearance of 130mm improves the aerodynamics of this bike which gives it good stability on long runs. The high speed stability furthers increases with its wheelbase of 1385mm. The bike stays grounded around sharp corners thanks to its effective suspension system and fatty tyres. These tyres never allow this bike to loose contact with roads. The electronic steering of this bike gives it light handling at high speeds and it follows the rider’s command properly. Its steering plays a vital role while you handle this bike in city and boosts your confidence. It’s a bit difficult though to turn this bike at slows speeds. Apart from its handling, it also impresses you with its capable braking system which helps you to stop this bike accurately.

Suzuki GSX-R600 Tyre Size, Shades and Variants

The front and rear tyre size of this bike is 120/70 R17 and 180/55 R17 respectively. Suzuki is yet to announce the shades and variants of this bike.

Verdict

Suzuki will launch this bike below GSX-R750 but looking at its premium styling and engine, this bike will be much expensive than regular 600cc bikes in India. The high level of visual resemblance of GSX-R600 with its elder siblings proves to be a big USP for this bike. The value for money parameter does not apply on such sports bikes. It’s certainly an impressive bike which comes with exceptional racing skills.
