After my 4+ months of riding the Honda Hornet, I have been nothing short of impressed. It's smooth, refined, and incredibly easy to handle. It has a maximum speed of 100 kmph, with a comfortable ride at 80-90 kmph. I have had a chance to test ride many other bikes in the same 150-200cc range, but nothing beats the Hornet. The 5 gears provide plenty of power, and a 6th gear isn't necessary. There is no vibration, and the mileage I get is between 38-43 km/liter in cities. If you're looking for a great ride, give the Honda Hornet a test ride and you won't regret it. Enjoy the riding pleasure!
Good buying experience and nice to ride, the Honda Hornet gives you a big bike feel with 0-100 acceleration being pretty quick. The comfortable cruising speed is around 6400rpm in 5th gear which is 85-90. As soon as you cross 110 kph the bike tends to feel stressed but is still super stable and confident. The bike's engine refinement is its key highlight, making it great for city riding and daily commute as it only weighs 142 kg kerb, making it easy to filter through traffic. Plus, service and maintenance for the bike is easy on your pocket.
Pros:
- Great looks
- USD feels premium
- Gives you a big bike feel
- Stability
- Engine refinement
Cons:
- Plastic quality and fit and finish could have been better
- Headlight is not ideal for night rides on the highway with speed
- Rearview mirrors are useless
- Chassis looks too basic, could have used two rods in front instead of a single
- Metal parts like the muffler catch rust soon, and the paint quality on those metal parts could have been better
Overall, the Honda Hornet is a great bike and I hope Honda won't discontinue it, but will instead upgrade it into a more premium package. If they do decide to discontinue the bike, like they did with the legendary CBF Stunner, I will surely not visit a Honda showroom again.
The Honda Hornet is an impressive bike with good performance and mileage. It is a great option for daily commuters who need a reliable and fuel-efficient vehicle. It has a smooth gearbox with no knocking even at low speeds, making it great for city driving. The torque at low and midrange is impressive, and the ride is comfortable and stable at high speeds. The service and maintenance costs are also low, thanks to the simple air-cooled engine.
The main downside of the Hornet is that the top end is quite flat after 110 km/h and it takes a long time to reach the top speed from 4th to 5th gear. The seat is also quite small, so the old Hornet and FZ V1 seats offer more space. The headlight throw and brightness is not adequate either.
Overall, the Honda Hornet is a great option for anyone looking for a reliable, fuel-efficient and easy-to-maintain bike. It is well suited for short to medium distance commuting and for those who don't want to spend too much on a bike. The performance is good and the torque is impressive. The maintenance costs are low and the ride is comfortable and stable.
As a loyal customer of the Honda Hornet , I am very disappointed in the quality of the product. Despite the fact that I have been using it for the past couple of years, I have faced a major manufacturing defect with the key set which has led to the replacement of the key set twice, in the span of a year. This suggests that the fault lies in either the Research and Development Department or Quality Assurance Department.
What is more, the customer service centre has only recommended that I replace the key set as the solution. Furthermore, I have been asked to pay for the replacement since my key tag is not available.
I feel extremely let down and disappointed by the Honda Hornet and I hope that this mail will reach the attention of the Honda customer care.
The Honda Hornet is an eye-catching bike with good riding experience. However, it falls short in terms of value-for-money, as the cost is quite high for the features it comes with. The performance could be improved with a 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS, which would make it more reliable and safer. Unfortunately, it isn't strong enough to handle even minor accidents, as I found out after my bike was bent on one side after being hit by another bike. The servicing and maintenance is good and cost-effective, but I find the single LED indicator a bit of a letdown when compared to other bikes of the same price range. The seat is also quite uncomfortable, making it hard for both the rider and the pillion during long rides. The power of the bike is great and the initial pick-up is amazing. However, the gear shifting can be a bit off at times and the headlamps could be brighter. The wind-cutting is also quite poor and the rear tyre could do with a 20mm increase, while the front could benefit from a 10mm increase. All in all, the Honda Hornet is a great bike, but it could do with some improvements.
