Expert opinion and recommendation

The Hero Xtreme Sports (Rear Disc) is a compelling option in the 150cc segment, especially for those seeking a blend of style, performance, and comfort. While it may not boast the latest hardware compared to its Japanese rivals, it still manages to deliver a satisfying ride experience. The bikes ergonomics, with its upright seating position, high-raised clip-on handlebars, and properly placed footpegs, make it ideal for city commutes. The engine, tweaked to produce 15.6 bhp and 13.5 Nm of torque, offers smooth power delivery and decent acceleration, although its weight slightly dampens the overall performance. The braking system, featuring a 240mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, is effective but lacks a combined braking system. Overall, its a great choice for those in smaller cities where service and spare parts for Hero bikes are readily available, but it may not be the top pick for those in metro cities with access to a wider range of modern motorcycles.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

The Hero Xtreme Sports, a 150cc commuter bike, was discontinued in April 2020, marking the end of its production run in India. This bike was known for its sporty design, including a stylish new headlamp with LED position lights, new body graphics, and a new LED tail light. I believe this discontinuation was likely due to the increasing competition in the 150cc segment and the need for Hero MotoCorp to focus on newer models.
April 30, 2020
The bike was equipped with advanced features for its time, including a digital speedometer, analogue tachometer, and digital trip meters. It also had a side stand indicator, which prevented the bike from starting if the side stand was not pulled up. I believe these features added to the bikes convenience and safety.
February 2, 2014
In terms of safety, the Hero Xtreme Sports came with disc brakes on both ends, although it lacked ABS, which was a notable omission given the safety standards of the time. I think the absence of ABS was a significant drawback, especially considering the safety norms that were about to be implemented.
February 2, 2014
The Hero Xtreme Sports was priced competitively, with the front disc variant costing Rs 80,100 and the front and rear disc version costing Rs 82,100 (ex-showroom Delhi). I believe the pricing was reasonable given the features and performance it offered.
February 1, 2014
The Hero Xtreme Sports featured a 149.2cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC engine, producing 15.8 PS at 8500 rpm and 13.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. It was paired with a 5-speed transmission and could reach a claimed top speed of 107 kmph. I think the engine performance was one of the strong points of this bike, making it a reliable choice for daily commuting.

Pricing details and changes

The price of the Hero Xtreme Sports (Rear Disc) in India can vary depending on the state and local taxes. As of recent data, the ex-showroom price typically ranges between 1.20 lakh to 1.30 lakh. However, the on-road price, which includes registration, insurance, and other costs, can go up to 1.50 lakh to 1.60 lakh. Its important to check with local dealers for the most accurate pricing, as it can fluctuate. From my perspective, the pricing is competitive within its segment, offering a good balance of features and performance for the money.

The mileage of the Hero Xtreme Sports (Rear Disc) is a crucial factor for many buyers. Based on user reviews and test rides, this bike generally offers a mileage of around 45-55 kmpl in mixed city and highway conditions. This is respectable for a 150cc bike with its performance credentials. However, actual mileage can vary depending on riding conditions, maintenance, and driving style. For those concerned about running costs, this bike strikes a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency.

Today, I am writing this this review after completion of 2000 KM of my bike. This bike is good enough in all the terms. Control is Excellent, again Mileage is 57 KM in Mix Highway & Local environment, Pickup is good, Service required after 3000KM which is major relief . What more you expect from 150cc bike.

Since I procured my brand new bike from CBZ Xtreme Sport from the dealer Aditya Motors, Nagpur it has been a nightmarish experience for
me. Despite all the claims before I got the bike, I have been facing loads of issues the very First and Second week of my procurement. I saw a couple
scratches over my bike apart from facing the oil issues, which made me change the same. However, the problem of oil prolonged, which again compelled me to go for another oil change. Even before I could take a sigh of relief, I was seen with another issue in the gearbox. While riding the bike, the gear automatically changes giving a sudden jerk. Despite fixing the problem a couple of times, the problem still remained annoying me a lot along with bringing in other issues like the Tipped voice, Horn Switch Issue(Some Time Horn is not working), Engine Over heating etc.

The fact is in the past three months of my use of this bike, I have been pissed off owing to the number of problems I have faced from this
so called brand new bike. I even requested my dealer to relace it, however, he denied saying that there is no such policy from the company. Moreover, I have even posted an online compliant to the concerned department, but yet to get any response on the same. In other words, I am deeply dismayed, disturbed and frustrated to see so many problems erupting in a brand new bike just procured barely three months before. I am simply being taken for a ride for no fault of mine.

Common Issues:
1) Gear Box/Clutch Plate Issue
2) Horn Switch Issue
3) Tipper Issue (On speed of 55-60KMPH engine voice is like
100CC Scooty)

Apart from above Issue following are few more.

1) Built Quality is very poor ( Fiber Parts)
2) Suppression is very poor
3) Engine Stop key is missing
4) Trip meter feature is also missing
5) Most important, If you want to stop the engine on Signal
your hand should be longer than Law (Kanoon se bhi Lambe)

@Hero: I want my money back or give me a replacement, I
don’t have enough time to go every time
