Expert opinion and recommendation

The Hero Hunk 150 (Rear Disc) is a robust and stylish motorcycle that has been a staple in the Indian market since its launch in 2007. Despite being discontinued in India in 2015, it still holds its ground as a reliable and performance-oriented bike. The Hunk boasts a muscular design, enhanced by features like LED tail lamps, body-colored mirrors, and a semi-digital dashboard. Its 149.2cc air-cooled engine delivers a respectable 15.6 bhp of power and 13.5 Nm of torque, making it suitable for both city commutes and occasional long rides. However, some users have noted vibrations at the handlebar and the lack of an engine kill switch as minor drawbacks. Overall, the Hero Hunk 150 (Rear Disc) offers a well-rounded experience with its blend of style, performance, and reliability, making it a solid choice for those seeking a dependable 150cc motorcycle.

Recent news and announcements

The new Hero Hunk 150 has been launched in India, featuring a bold and muscular design with a sharp, angular headlamp cluster housing a powerful LED headlight. The bike also boasts a large sculpted fuel tank, aggressive front end styling, and possibly LED lights with DRLs, giving it a more premium and modern look. The pricing is competitive, ranging from Rs. 95,000 to Rs. 1,05,000 depending on the variant. I think this pricing makes it an attractive option in the 150cc segment.

The 2024 Hero Hunk 150 is expected to come with significant technological upgrades, including a fully digital instrument cluster, which is a big step up from previous models. It may also feature a gear position indicator and smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, allowing for turn-by-turn navigation and call notifications on the instrument cluster. I believe these features will make the bike more appealing to tech-savvy riders.

Hero MotoCorp has redesigned the Hunk 150 with Indian riding conditions in mind, offering an upright riding position and a wide, raised handlebar for comfort during city commutes and long distances. The bike also features a redesigned seat with better cushioning and a wider profile, along with a 14-liter fuel tank for extended range. I think these ergonomic improvements will make the Hunk 150 a favorite among daily commuters.

The previous Hero Hunk 150 model, before its discontinuation, was powered by a 149.2cc air-cooled engine producing 15.6 BHP and 13.5 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It had a kerb weight of 146 kg and a ground clearance of 163 mm, making it easy to handle on city roads. I think the old models performance was decent, but the new updates will likely make the new Hunk even better.
June 14, 2022
The braking system of the new Hero Hunk 150 has seen a significant upgrade, with a 276mm petal disc at the front and a 220mm petal disc at the rear, combined with dual-channel ABS. This setup provides confident stopping power in all conditions, which is particularly important in Indias unpredictable road conditions. I believe this enhancement will greatly improve safety for riders.

Although the Hero Hunk 150 (Rear Disc) has been discontinued since 2015, its ex-showroom price at the time of its availability ranged from Rs. 70,040 to Rs. 82,309, depending on the variant and location. On-road prices would have been slightly higher, typically around Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 95,000, including taxes, registration, and other costs. For those considering purchasing a used model, prices can vary widely based on the bikes condition, mileage, and location, but generally fall in the range of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000. Its crucial to inspect the bike thoroughly and negotiate the price based on its condition to get the best value.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Hero Hunk 150 (Rear Disc) offers a fuel economy that is decent but not exceptional. According to ARAI, the bike achieves a mileage of 65.1 kmpl, though real-world mileage tends to be lower, typically around 45-50 kmpl. This makes it a reasonable choice for daily commutes, but it may not be the most economical option for long-distance riders or those highly concerned about fuel costs.

Vehicle Overview
Hero Hunk is a 150cc commuter sport motorcycle that has been in the market since quite long. It received a minor facelift and due to its less than expected sales, it can be discontinued if a new 150cc series of motorcycles is planned by the company. It is powered by a 149.2cc engine producing 15.6 BHP and 13.5 Nm of torque. The high 146 kg of weight and a conventional 5-speed gearbox makes it good for just 112 kmph of top speed. It rivals Bajaj Pulsar 150, TVS Apache RTR 160 and Honda CB Unicorn 160.

If you kept our bike at out side at petrol pumps, road sides, parking places some party workers /antisocial elements/basterds are distubing the bikes to make inconvinence to the bike owners and make him angry on manufactures of should be condemned by all bike workers who have no basterd mentalities.

When I was planning to buy a bike
I thought of many bikes
Like
Hero hunk
Honda unicorn 160
Tvs apache 160
Hero Xtreme
I wanted a bike with good handling,Looks, pickup, good for long rides and most concern was moleage.
Honda unicorn 160-the bike is known for its reliability handling and mileage .
I didn't liked its full digital console the bike was very smooth and every thing was good. I didn't liked the looks of new.hunk was better in looks according to me so I didn't bought it
TVs apache - I liked the handling of the bike and the pickup was very good but there was vibration in handle. Due to the sporty riding position it cant be rode for long drives and vibration will also irritate .
Hero Xtreme- the bike was very good everything was good accept the small tank and the analog digital console looked wired to me.
Hero hunk- I rode this bike and found the handling was good and bike gave me a big bike feel and many people looked at me
So I bout it .
NOW MY REVIEW ABOUT MY BIKE
The bike is very smooth no problems in riding the bike
The bike handling is very light it doesn't feels that u are riding a bike of 145kg The big tank of bike gives a muscular look, many people on the road look at my bike which makes me feel proud
Brakes of the bike very good I have a single disk variant no problem with the brakes
The pickup of the bike is very good
Throttle response is immediate which is good
I have read many reviews that they are telling gears are hard to shift, but I didn't find that
The gears are very good I ride the bike at speed of 45-55kmph not more than that in city
I have not taken the bike on highway,I ride the bike continuously for 30mins I didn't find any pain in my hand or in my body
The tire grip is too good on the roads
Best part of the bike is it's suspension they are very soft and well tuned also u will never feel any pain on your back during riding in bumpy roads rather u will enjoy riding their.
The million dollar question
Mileage kitna deti h
I ride it smoothly and I get a mileage of 52-54 kmpl
What else u need in a bike
Good performance, looks, good engine sound, mileage, reliable engine which will last long
