The motorcycle would carry an effective future friendly design and could help the brand establish itself in the slowly growing electric motorcycle market. Harley Davidson is known for its massive productions in the biking segment and after a long research on a new segment of motorcycles. Project Livewire had a really tough time for Harley as developing a new source of power is something else, but fitting the same in a limited spaced motorcycle is really a tough job to be done. The result of the project was a massive looking cafe racer, which really shows how neatly technology has mixed with elegance.

Design & Style

The motorcycle has every bit of it wrapped in technology, yet on the other side shows how classic it actually is. Livewire has been developed with a motive to overcome the use of fossil fuels, yet has no compromise with the styling of the bike. LED's have been very nicely placed on each of the indication of the bike. The placement of the rear view mirrors below the handlebar makes a different style statement with the indicators embedded on them. Use of chrome at the necessary places truly justifies the perfection of the bike.

Instrument Console

The instrument console has been simplified and beautifully presented in the form of a single display unit, making no announcement whether it’s an LCD or an LED. Each detail would be digitally displayed and real time battery performance and statistics would be visualized.

Engine & Performance

The engine fully feeds on electric power and in return delivers 74 BHP of power and 70 NM of torque. On the Eco-friendly power source, the bike performs very well and achieving the top speed of 148 kmph is really an impressive factor for the motorcycle. It just takes 4 seconds to a 60 kmph sprint and with more research going on the project, further development is eagerly expected.

Brakes and Suspension

The Livewire gets a massive disc brake at the front and a comparatively smaller one for the rear. Provision of ABS is not yet declared. The front gets the adjustable telescopic forks whereas the rear is managed by a monoshock suspension unit. The front tyres measures 18 inch whereas the rear is 17 inches. The rear of the livewire gets a tyre-hugger as the length of the seat is not exactly long enough for a mudguard.

The livewire has been seen yet in the Black shade, with traces of Red, Grey and Chrome in it. It has been priced approximately INR 12,00,000 (may vary).
