The Honda CB Shine SP is a good bike for those looking for a fuel-efficient commuter with more power than 100 cc commuters, with its butter smooth 125cc H.E.T. engine delivering a solid 10.5 horsepower, 10.3 Nm of torque, and a mileage of 74.7 kmpl.

The SP 125 is available in two variants: disc and drum, with pricing starting at Rs. 72,900 (ex-showroom). This new model brings several updates in design and features. Honda has finally launched the 15th product for its year 2015 lineup. The all new product, which was termed as the 'Mystery Bike' at Revfest has been named as Honda CB Shine SP. The all new product gets a completely different design from the current Honda lineup, making it stand proud above the CB Shine in its product list.

Honda CB Shine SP Design and Style

The CB Shine SP is a positive approach for the conservative design strategy of the HMSI. The newcomer seems to be more focused on young riders, fascinating their dream bike with the engine of the most selling 125cc bike in India. The Shine SP comes with sporty touches all around its body. The rear end is sharp and more youthful than the normal CB Shine whereas the seat has been kept the same for better comfort of both the riders. The new noticeable alloy wheel design looks perfect on the sporty new look of the CB Shine SP. The front headlight cluster looks inspired collectively from the Honda Livo and Hero Hunk whereas the side profile displays the ideal Honda conservative styling.

Honda CB Shine SP Instrument Console

The analogue-digital instrument console on the motorcycle is all new and comes with a nice arrangement of dials and indicators. Starting from the left, the analogue speedometer is encased in a round pod with the digital odometer, fuel indicator and trip meter on the right inside a square shaped LCD panel. The extreme left keeps the turn indicator, neutral and high beam indicator.

Honda CB Shine SP Engine and Gearbox

The engine on the CB Shine SP remains the same 124.73 cc, 1-cylinder air cooled unit. The refined motor has been mated to an all new 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle produces 10.16 bhp @ 7500 rpm and 10.3 NM @ 5500 rpm. The performance feels hassle free for the first 60 kmph whereas the 5th gear provides a better highway drive with less vibrations and noise.

Honda CB Shine SP Performance and Mileage

The performance factor for the bike makes it much better than others in the segment. It's 5-speed gearbox benefits the bike in overall terms as company claims a 65 kmpl of mileage from the motorcycle. It gets a 124 kg of body weight and comes with 10.5 liter of fuel tank, making it good for 500+ km.

Honda CB Shine SP Brakes and Suspension

The CB Shine SP comes with three options of braking systems. The base variant gets drum brakes on both the ends whereas the middle one comes with a front 240 mm of disc brake. The topmost version comes with Honda CBS, enabling better and safe braking for the motorcycle. It comes with the same telescopic forks as other Honda bikes at the front and traditional spring loaded hydraulic type suspension at the rear.

Honda CB Shine SP Safety and Comfort

The safety gets enhanced by the use of CBS in the motorcycle. The tubeless 80/100-18 tyres for both front and rear end are tubeless, making it lesser prone to sudden deflation than the normal tyres. The bike gets a long comfortable seat, making it more easy to ride both in heavy traffic and long drives. The electric starter, pillion grab rail and excellent handling makes it the best option for a stylish 125cc motorcycle.
