Maruti Suzuki Swift Diesel VDi is the highest selling variant out of all others available till date. It is popular among masses for its brilliant fuel efficiency and value for money approach as most buyers skip additional features for saving a huge amount on their initial spending. Swift VDi uses an effective and frugal 1248cc, four cylinder diesel engine producing 74 BHP at 4000 rpm and 190 Nm at 2000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. They are even offering an AMT equipped variant for a higher price but feature list remains exactly the same in both variants.

Maruti now offers safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and standard front seat belts with pretensioners.

Buyers can choose between mouth watering shades namely Solid Red, Silky Silver, Pearl Arctic White, Midnight Blue, Magma Grey and Lucent Orange. Swift was once the highest selling product but after inclusion of Baleno in Maruti lineup, they keep on changing positions with each other. Buyers who consider Baleno will need to spend around INR 30,000 over the Swift variant to keep almost same features with themselves. That price brings more legroom and boot space to the buyer.
