Audi Q3 Diesel 30 TDI S

Audi has launched the much-awaited ‘Q3 S Edition’ in India. It is a stripped-down version of the Q3 SUV and loses many features like automatic transmission, sunroof, day-time running light, xenon head lamps, to name a few. It is powered by a de-tuned diesel engine which generates maximum power of 140 bhp with maximum torque of 320nm. The engine is mated to 6-speed manual transmission. It will compete with the other entry level hatchbacks such as Mercedes Benz A-class, B-class and BMW 1-series hatchback and Audi India is trying to attract the crowd by giving them a crossover in a little high price than these entry level hatchbacks.

The exterior of Audi Q3 Sport is not much different from the other variants except a few features that have been opted out from them. It still gives a very stylish and classy look with its single-frame front radiator grille, large inlet blades, dynamically designed bonnet, wedge shaped front headlights, black trim strips, roof rails, sharply inclined D-pillars, adjustable exterior mirrors with ORVMs, 16-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels, Tornado lines on the side profile, dynamic flat rear window, large tailgate, headlight washer, tinted windscreen, body colored bumper, front and rear fog lamps and rear windscreen with wiper and defogger.

It is powered by a de-tuned diesel engine which generates maximum power of 140 bhp with maximum torque of 320nm. The engine is mated to 6-speed manual transmission. It has a top speed of 212 kmph and reaches 0-100 kmph mark in just 8.2 seconds with the mileage of about 12kmpl in the cities and about 15kmpl on the highways. It has a fuel tank capacity of 64 litres. For the utmost safety of the passengers, it has ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Program) with ABS, EBD, ASR and EDL, four Airbags for driver, front passenger, front side and head, front and rear fog lights, light and rain sensors, rear parking sensors, central remote locking, seat belt monitoring system, the Thatcham Category 1 alarm, engine immobilizer, power steering and Cruise Control. It has electromechanical power brakes with parking brakes, emergency braking function and a hill assist system. The suspension system is a dynamic one with a set of interconnected hydraulic cylinders.

Audi Q3 S Edition is one of the variant of Q3 along with 2.0L TFSi Petrol, 2.5L RS Quattro turbo petrol and 2.0L TDI diesel. It is available in eight shades which are Brilliant Black, Metallic Cobalt Blue, Metallic Glacier White, Phantom Black with Pearl Effect, Amalfi White, Metallic Ice Silver, Samoa Orange and Caribou Brown. It is available at a price of INR 24.99 lakhs which may vary slightly in different states. Overall, this SUV is a perfect combination of style, comfort, luxury, speed, performance, power and price and thus is a better option than other entry level hatchbacks in the same price.
