2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 Officially Unleashed!

Yamaha has finally unveiled the 2017 model of YZF-R6 sportbike at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida. As expected, the design of 2017 YZF-R6 is heavily inspired from the recently updated YZF-R1 superbike. 2017 Yamaha R6 is powered by the same 599cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Yamaha has not yet revealed the exact power and torque figures for the new model. The last generation model of R6 develops maximum power of 122 Bhp @ 14500 rpm with maximum torque of 65.7 Nm @ 10500 rpm. As of now, it is not clear what would the improvements in terms of power and torque generated by the 2017 model. New Yamaha R6 now comes equipped with riding modes via ride-by-wire, revised suspension package, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), traction control, and an optional quickshifter. According to Yamaha, the fairing of new R6 has the most aerodynamic design ever, reducing its drag coefficient by 8% in comparison to the last generation model.
