2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 Unveiled Officially; Coming to India Next Year

Triumph Motorcycles has officially unveiled the 2022 model of Tiger 1200 for the global market. According to the brand, the new Tiger is the most powerful bike that offers great handling. It is a completely new bike with a new chassis, reduced weight, and an all-new triple engine for enhanced power. Just like the Tiger 900, the Tiger 1200 will also be offered in two ranges: the GT range for road-oriented riding and the Rally range for off-roading.

A total of five variants are available for this bike, which are the GT, GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro, and Rally Explorer. The Tiger 1200 is offered in an all-new lightweight chassis with an aluminium frame that includes a bolt-on rear aluminium subframe and pillion hangers. It is fitted with a lighter and stronger "tri-link" swingarm. Powering the new bike is a brand-new 1160cc triple engine with the new T-Plane crank with an uneven firing order, which is capable of churning out 150hp and 130 Nm.

In terms of appearance, the 2022 Tiger Triumph draws design inspiration from the Tiger 900. It now gets a wider and higher handlebar, an adjustable windscreen, and more spacious seats. Speaking of other features, the new Tiger 1200 has a standard-fit radar system from Continental which offers blind spots and lane change warning systems, a new 7-inch TFT display with My Triumph Connectivity, all-LED lighting, and lean-sensitive cornering lights in all models from the GT Pro onwards.

Moreover, there are six riding modes offered in the new bike, with the base GT variant having three modes like Rain, Road, and Sport. In addition, cornering ABS and traction control and a keyless start system are standard. Also, the GT range bikes will ride on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels while the Rally range bikes will get 21-inch front and 18-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels. As far as its India launch is concerned, we can expect the bike to come to our shores sometime next year.
