2022 Toyota Hilux Starts Reaching Dealerships Across India

The Toyota Hilux debuted in the country last week, and the first batch of units has already reached the dealerships ahead of the start of deliveries. The official accessory list has also been unveiled. These will be available as optional add-ons to the base feature set. Here we have a walkaround video, courtesy of Aayush SSM’s YouTube channel.

As for the offered accessories, these comprise a tent with a canopy, a tailgate assist, a stylish roll bar and over fender, a wireless charger, a front under-run, a Tonneau cover, and TPMS and air compressor. These accessories not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the pickup but also add to its utility.

In terms of features, the 2022 Hilux comes loaded with automatic LED headlamps, LED fog lamps and taillights, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, engine push-button start-stop, and 60:40 rear split seats, to name a few. For the safety of passengers, the maker has offered the SUV seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a rear parking camera, and so on.

Mechanically, the 2022 Toyota Hilux is powered by Fortuner’s 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which generates 204hp and 420Nm of torque (500Nm in the case of the automatic model). Just like the Fortuner SUV, the gearbox options on the Hilux include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
