Now the brand has launched two more Jupiter variants with a BS6-compliant engine. The base STD model of the BS6 TVS Jupiter is priced at INR 61,449 while the higher-spec Jupiter ZX variant is priced at INR 63,449 (ex-showroom).
The TVS Jupiter Grande variant is yet to be updated with a BS6-compliant engine. The prices of BS6 models have gone up by INR 2,100 for the base STD model while the ZX variant is now almost INR 3500 more expensive than the BS4 model.
Going by the design, the scooter remains unchanged. Mechanically, the Jupiter now comes powered with a BS6-compliant 110cc fuel-injected engine. For now, the company has not revealed the output figures of the BS6 Jupiter series but we can expect a slight drop in its performance as we witnessed in the BS6 Apache RTR 4V series.
The outgoing BS4 model of the scooter is powered by a 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 7.9HP of maximum power along with 8.4Nm of peak torque. The TVS Jupiter comprises of 2 riding modes - Power and Eco.
The ongoing BS4 model of the Jupiter Grande is priced at INR 65,000 (ex-showroom) and it comes with SmartXConnect smartphone connectivity. It is Indiaβs first 110cc scooter to come featured with this technology. It is one of the most purchased scooters in the Indian market.
At the starting price tag of INR 61,449, the BS6 TVS Jupiter is cheaper than the Honda Activa 6G. The brand also claims that the fuel-injection system promises to deliver 15% better fuel-efficiency. The updated model of the TVS Jupiter competes with the likes of Hero Maestro Edge, Suzuki Access, and Honda Activa.
