Production-Ready Royal Enfield Meteor 650 Spotted in India

Keeping its promise of releasing four new or updated products per year. This year, Royal Enfield introduced two new motorcycles: the Scram 411 and the Hunter 350. The brand is now planning to release two more models in 2022, one of which could be the Super Meteor 650. The bike's test mule has been spotted up close, and here's what you need to know about it.

Meteor 650 appears to be quite heavy, but it should be capable of high-speed cruising at speeds of 100 to 120 km/h and higher. Components such as USD front forks, dual rear shock absorbers, and a wide block pattern rear tyre for optimal traction will make it possible. RE Meteor 650 comes standard with disc brakes on both ends and dual-channel ABS.

A 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel twin engine that powers the Interceptor and Continental GT is likely to be adopted by RE for Meteor 650. It has a maximum power output of 47 hp at 7,150 rpm and a peak torque output of 52 Nm at 5,250 rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. It is possible that the engine will be slightly modified to meet the requirements of the Meteor 650.

RE Meteor 650 has a retro appearance, with features such as round headlamps and rearview mirrors, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a circular tail lamp. With centrally placed footpegs and an ergonomically placed wide handlebar, the riding stance is fairly comfortable. The rider seat section has a scooped-up profile that appears to be ideal for long journeys.

Other notable features include a tough crash guard, a wide pillion seat, minimal body panelling, thick exhaust pipes, and a large rear mudguard. Royal Enfield's Make It Yours (MIY) personalization platform will offer a variety of customization options.

The launch of the Meteor 650 appears to be timed to coincide with the peak of the holiday season. The bike could be priced starting at around Rs 3.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
