Renault all-set to launch the KWID 1000 in India on August 22

Renault India is ready to introduce the more powerful 1000cc KWID in the lineup. The car will be launched on August 22 and will be made available in the top-most trim only. The current version is powered by an 799 cc engine while the newcomer uses a 999 cc engine, producing a healthy 67 HP of maximum power. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and claims a 23.01 kmpl of mileage (Certified). The AMT equipped version for the same engine will be introduced later in the country. Renault is expected to price the 1.0 L version aggressively, pulling out the maximum possible sales from Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Eon 1.0 L. It is also being believed that the development of this 999 cc engine has opened ways for more cars like Datsun Go and redi-GO to use this engine and launch some really affordable products. Unfortunately, the latest report claims just a single driver side optional airbag while features would remain the same as the top spec currently available KWID. Some of them are touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, remote key-less entry, front power windows, dual tone dashboard and front fog lamps.
