Apple iPhone 14 Pro-Inspired Dynamic Island On Android Phone

When Apple introduced the notch, Samsung made fun of it. But soon added it to their own phones and today almost every second smartphone comes with a notch. The same could also happen with the new Dynamic Island which recently debuted on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Compared to last year's iPhone 13 Pro, the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max include a new innovation called Dynamic Island. It is Apple's answer to the "hole in the screen" that various Android smartphone manufacturers have inserted into their devices. And Apple has chosen to add a twist, with software that doesn't cut this detail, but magnifies it.

TechDroider's Vaibhav Jain shared a small video on his Twitter account using an Android phone with Dynamic Island. In the video, we see a Xiaomi smartphone with an iPhone 14 Pro-like Dynamic Island. It shows a small pill-shaped notch that expands into a larger interactive notch when touched.

Vaibhav in the Tweet thread informs that the theme is called Grump UI and Xiaomi calls it Smart Island. Xiaomi has already approved the theme, which can be downloaded from the Xiaomi Theme Store. Dynamic Island is a new notch from Apple and they call it a new design that introduces an intuitive way to experience the iPhone.

Throughout the video, you can see how the in-screen selfie camera hole and the black pod with the alert and audio playback controls are both located in the top left corner of the screen. The hole does not appear when you expand the notification or reading panel due to the black background. This is the first attempt by Android developers to emulate Dynamic Island. It is very likely that soon we will see other companies taking inspiration from Apple and developing their own solutions
