The much-awaited Maruti Celerio has finally been spotted uncamouflaged at a dealership, after being spotted several times during on-road testing. The white Celerio was most recently spotted in Pune during a TVC shoot. This forthcoming car is all set to launch this month and has already started arriving at dealerships for training purposes. Thanks to automobile enthusiast Tusshar Saini, here we have clear spy images of the white-coloured Maruti Celerio.
It is also worth mentioning that unofficial bookings for the upcoming car have already started at some Maruti Arena dealerships. These bookings are at a down payment of Rs 5,000 to Rs 11,000, depending on the dealer and also, the booking amount is refundable. The next-gen Maruti Celerio will be built on the company’s Heartect Platform, which will be beneficial for reducing weight and enhancing performance in fuel efficiency.
While looking at the design and feature updates, the new-gen Celerio will have a new black-finished front grille with chrome slats, larger body-coloured ORVMs, a muscular bonnet and swept-back headlamps. Some other exclusive features include blacked-out B pillars, fog lamps, multi-spoke alloy wheels, a tapered roofline and more. On the inside of the car, it gets a spacious cabin, a new central console, a multi-function steering wheel and a SmartPlay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
In addition, passenger safety is also anticipated to increase with the new Heartect Platform and dual-airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, a speed alert system, and seat belt reminder feature for both the driver and co-passenger.
In terms of performance, the 2021 Maruti Celerio will be powered by a 1.0-litre, K10C petrol engine which is slightly different from the current 1.0-litre K10B engine. This engine will be coupled to a 5-speed manual unit and AMT option. While talking about pricing, the new Celerio is likely to be available at a slightly higher price than the current-gen model.
