Next-Gen Hyundai Verna Spotted Testing On The Indian Roads

Being one of the top sellers in the midsize sedan market, the next-generation model of the Hyundai Verna has been keenly awaited as well, and the first indications are out now. The all-new Hyundai Verna has been sighted testing in camouflage on Indian roads for the first time, implying that it will be available in India next year.

Although the test mule in the photos is completely camouflaged, we can still anticipate that the carmaker could use the Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy for this upcoming sedan, codenamed BN7. Hyundai is currently applying this design language to domestic as well as international models of the cars like the i20, Elantra, and Sonata.

The upcoming Hyundai Verna may have a broad grille that merges into the headlights. A split headlight design, similar to the Hyundai Venue, may be seen. The new split headlight design idea has grown extremely popular, with automobiles such as the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus offering a similar setup. In the same way, the rear end of the sedan could be inspired by the Elantra’s and offer it a sharp look.

Apart from the exterior changes, interior, as well as feature updates, are also expected. Getting the idea from the spy shots, the 2023 Hyundai Verna is supposed to be fitted with features like a brand new dashboard and centre console, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and an all-digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, six airbags, and much more.

As far as the powertrain is concerned, the next-gen Hyundai Verna is likely to be offered two engine options. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre four-pot diesel engines will get the option of both manual and automatic transmissions. The brand could also utilise mild-hybrid technology for better fuel efficiency. If it happens, the Honda City, which has just got its strong hybrid version, will be a tough competitor for the sedan.
