2023 Hyundai Creta SUV India Launch Soon - Quick Report

The 2nd-generation Creta debuted in 2020 and became the best-selling SUV in the country. Others have since snatched that throne, owing to stiffer competition nowadays. Hyundai plans to release an update for the Creta in the form of a midlife facelift to keep it competitive.

The exterior design of the facelifted Hyundai Creta will be the most noticeable change. The updated model will be available in select international markets such as Indonesia. It will feature a new front, inspired by the new-generation Hyundai Tucson. The main headlamp will be low on the new front bumper.

The SUV's side profile will remain unchanged for the most part. They will restyle the taillights, tailgate, and rear bumper. Hyundai Creta facelift will have more road presence than the current model.

The interior of the SUV will most likely see only minor changes. The dashboard design will not change, but the upholstery options may get an update. We expect a digital instrument console may replace the old semi-digital console.

The upcoming Creta facelift will include all the features found in the current model. It could also get an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). ADAS includes driver attention monitoring, forward collision warning and avoidance, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring and avoidance, and other features. BlueLink-connected car system will also most likely get an upgrade in functionality.

The facelifted Creta for India will keep the same powertrain options as before. This will include a 1.5L NA petrol engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. A 1.4L turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT, and a 1.5L turbo-diesel mill with 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT.

Hyundai Motor India has yet to make an official announcement about the facelift. Rumours suggest that the updated SUV will arrive in the Indian market by the mid of this year. It will cost more than the current model, which ranges from Rs. 10.45 lakh to Rs. 18.19 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
