If a report from AutoCar India is to be believed, Honda will soon take the Indian market by storm with its upcoming crossover, WR-V. It would be the smallest crossover among other Honda cars while it has been clearly mentioned that it would be heavily based on the popular Jazz hatchback. Unlike other cars which just put up a bit of cladding and call the hatchbacks as crossovers, Honda will provide different bonnet, headlights, bumpers and wheels for sure. honda-wr-v-design-sketch-official-front

India Bound Honda WR-V Officially Rendered

Basically, the car has a motive of strengthening Honda's presence in the crossover market of South America, while its introduction to Indian market could even help Honda beat rivals like Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 Active and Fiat Urban Cross. The front on this officially rendered carries a Honda Solid Wing face. Ground clearance will definitely be raised while the new face would make it even more aggressive than Honda cars currently on sale in the country. The car will use the 1.5 L flex fuel engine in South America while Indian engine lineup will include 1.2 L petrol as well as 1.5 L diesel motor. The pricing will be quite strict for South American market as it will be presented as a more affordable option to the Ford Ecosport and Renault Duster. Indian tax breakups would also help the sub 4 meter crossover to maintain a good amount of gap from both of these cars.
