The updated model of Toyota Fortuner SUV would be competing with the likes of Ford Endeavour, MG Gloster, Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, Skoda Kodiaq, and the Isuzu MU-X. Here is the variant-wise ex-showroom price list for the 2021 Toyota Fortuner:
The 2021 model is powered by the same 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine as the last-gen variants of the Fortuner, but it is now good for 204 HP of power and 420 Nm of utmost torque when paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The big change is with the 6-speed diesel automatic model, and it is now good for a maximum power of 204HP along with a peak torque of 500Nm. Earlier, the same model was good for 177HP-450Nm. On the other hand, the 2.7-litre petrol variant of the updated model is good for 166 HP and 245 Nm. The petrol version is available with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
If we talk about the exterior design of the car, the updated model sports a lot of changes like a new front grille with mesh pattern, re-designed headlamps with LED DRLs, and a new front bumper with a different design for the fog light housing.
The SUV is also equipped with newly-designed 18-inch alloy wheels, but the overall look from the sides remains the same in comparison to the current-gen version of the Fortuner. The only noticeable changes in the rear-end are the all-new LED tail lamps and a slightly tweaked rear bumper.
The cabin is now equipped with a lot of equipment than before like an upgraded 8-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV also features adjustable front seats, a 360-degree park assist camera, wireless charging for smartphones, LED ambient lighting, an 11-speaker JBL audio system, front parking sensors, and there are two interior colour options on offer: all-black and chamois.
If we talk about safety, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner is equipped with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Assist Control (TAC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electric Braking Distribution (EBD), front and rear disc brakes, and 7 airbags.
