The much-anticipated Renault Triber has been launched in India at a starting price tag of INR 4.95 Lakh. The ultra-modular 7-seater MPV features a lot of premium bits in addition to an excellent design language. The niche offering from Renault competes in the market with the likes of Datsun GO+, Ford Freestyle, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, and the Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The front fascia of the Renault Triber features a Kwid-inspired grille mated to projector headlamps. The unique LED DRLs at the bottom of the headlights adds to its exclusivity while the muscular stance of the MPV is enhanced by body cladding on the sides. The split tail lamps at the rear further add to its sporty exterior.
The Renault Triber measures 3990mm in length, 1739mm in width and 1643mm in height. It gets a wheelbase of 2636mm while the ground clearance stands at 182mm. The fuel tank capacity of the 7-seater MPV is 40-litres.
Coming to the interiors, the brand has equipped the Triber with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in addition to standard premium features such as cooled glove box, multi-information display, second and third rows AC vents, power steering, power windows and more. The steering mounted audio controls, as well as automatic climate control, have been given a miss by the brand.
Powering the Renault Triber is a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 72HP and a peak torque of 96Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The brand is expected to offer the MPV with a 5-speed AMT gearbox shortly though, no official confirmation has been made yet.
The suspension duties on the MPV are handled by Pseudo McPherson strut with lower triangle & coil spring at the front while the rear features torsion beam axle suspension. The Renault Triber gets disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear.
In terms of safety, all variants of Renault Triber come with three-point seat belts on all rows, ABS, reverse parking sensors, and dual front airbags. In addition to these features, the top-spec variants also get front-side airbags and a rear parking camera.
