2019 Jeep Cherokee SUV Officially Unveiled

2019 Jeep Cherokee was recently unveiled for specific international markets. The model follows same design lines as bigger Grand Cherokee but rivals none other than Land Rover Discovery Sport internationally. The Tata owned British marque has already brought the Discovery Sport to India while Fiat may plan a later entry for Cherokee in India due to localization issues. Cherokee is quite decent in terms of performance as it gets 2.0L and 2.2L engine options as standard. Performance lovers would definitely go for the bigger Trailhawk version with 3.2L V6, 272HP petrol engine for select markets. Wheel designs are all new while Jeep now uses better LED front and rear lights on the Cherokee. The car now uses 80 safety enhancing features all over its body. This includes blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors and much more. Jeep is also working on 706 HP variant for the bigger Grand Cherokee, which could be named as Trackhawk in 2018. Cherokee may still not launch in India but fans could go through rest of the products like Compass, Wrangler and Grand Cherokee for complete off-road pleasure. Indian market will soon witness the launch of Renegade while updated Wrangler will also make its way to India this year. Jeep Compass is the highest selling product of this segment, carrying two powerful engine options in the form of 1.4L petrol and 2.0L diesel engine. The petrol car is good for 162 PS and 250 Nm of torque while diesel further takes the benchmark up to 173 PS and 350 Nm. The former comes with 7-speed AT will latter uses a 6-speed manual gearbox. Jeep range starts from INR 15.16 lakh in India.
