Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell SUV Officially Unveiled
Hyundai Nexo was recently unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show 2018. The modern SUV comes with host of autonomous features and runs on hydrogen fuel cell power. As Hyundai is moving towards a clean automotive future, Nexo will serve as their flagship research product for more cars on this technology. The hydrogen fuel cell used here comes with 95 KW of total capacity and offers 805 km of driving range. Hyundai Nexo has maximum torque output of 395 Nm, resulting in a quick 0-100 kmph of 9.5 seconds. Unlike electric cars that take hours to charge, Nexo will take just 5 minutes to refuel. Nexo comes to be 4671mm long, 1859mm wide and 1630mm in overall height. The design stays more or less similar to FE Fuel Cell Concept from Geneva Motor Show. Apart from bringing environment friendly power to consumers, Hyundai has made driving an easy affair with their fully automated system. They went forward to update their present blind spot monitor that now brings driver’s position to the screen, in relation to other cars on the road. Hyundai Nexo also comes with automatic, driver-less parking system. Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell SUV Autonomous technology including Lane Follow Assist and Highway Driving Assist is also available on the Nexo. Both of these track the road signals and keep driving in the specific lane with prescribed speed limit. Also, the car automatically adjusts speeds according to the traffic and brake whenever required. The new system even tracks weather information. This makes Hyundai Nexo a pretty safe car when compared to modern day technologies with more drawbacks than actual benefits. Hyundai is India’s second largest manufacturer of cars but will take time to bring new technologies into the country. Hyundai rivals Ford, Maruti, Honda and Tata cars in India.
