In July 2018, the Renault Kwid received a minor update, adding new features such as pretensioner front seat-belts, two additional USB sockets, a rear armrest, and a new grille. This update also introduced two new color schemes, enhancing the cars appeal in the Indian market. I think these additions were a step in the right direction to keep the Kwid competitive.

In August 2016, Renault introduced a more powerful 1.0-liter engine for the Kwid, which produced 50 kW (67 hp) of power and 91 Nm of peak torque. This engine upgrade was a significant improvement over the initial 799 cc unit, making the car more appealing to buyers looking for better performance. I believe this move helped in boosting sales and customer satisfaction.

The Renault Kwid was unveiled in India on May 20, 2015, by Renaults CEO Carlos Ghosn. Ghosn described the car as a game changer for Renault in India, highlighting its high localization of parts and extensive engineering by local Renault personnel. The Kwid was designed to compete with other small cars in the Indian market. I think the launch was a bold move to capture the Indian auto market.
