This policy vacuum has put the resurrection of the Reva electric car in jeopardy. I think government support is crucial for the adoption of electric vehicles.

The Mahindra e2o was launched with a unique ownership program called “Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric,” which split the acquisition cost into an initial cost and an e2o care protection plan. This program aimed to address consumer concerns about the high initial cost of the vehicle.

Mahindra Reva announced the launch of the e2o in Delhi on March 18, 2013. The e2o was positioned as a next-generation electric vehicle, featuring advanced technologies like smartphone-controlled features, GPS navigation, and a dashboard-mounted touchscreen. I think these features made it quite innovative for its time.

The Mahindra e2o was expected to be available with either lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries, although it ultimately used lithium-ion batteries. The cars exterior design was collaborated with DC Design, and the interior styling was done in-house by Revas R&D and Styling team.
