In May 2017, Hyundai introduced the Eon Sports Edition in India, which added several styling and feature enhancements, including side body moldings, roof rails, and a 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Phone-Link. In April 2017, Hyundai Asia Resources Incorporated (HARI) opened its Hyundai Assembly Center in Santa Rosa, Philippines, to increase production of the Eon to meet growing demand. This expansion highlighted the cars popularity in the region. I believe this was a strategic step to strengthen Hyundais market presence.

The 2017 Hyundai Eon saw the introduction of a new 1.0-liter Kappa II three-cylinder engine, which produced 51 kW (69 PS) of power and 94 Nm of torque. This engine was part of Hyundais efforts to enhance performance and drivability. I think this engine upgrade was a significant improvement for the Eon.
